So much anger. I agree, they really make me not care about oppo. If I want just car porn I will GIS, but it's not that big of a deal. I should be doing work anyway.

It's getting a little tiresome, but it will stop eventually. I don't necessarily have a problem with theme days when they occur, but it should be something a little more interesting than "red." That's sort of like having a theme day of "4-wheeled cars."

It would make more sense to confine the theme to one post rather than turn this place into Oppogram. But I know others have tried to make that point and it never works. Or it gets bypassed by the very theme posts their trying to dissuade.

Hey look, I googled "Red [insert car name here]" and found a picture.

That said, I just made my own (and only) theme contribution. But it's not a car.

Heaven forbid we have some fun while stuck at work or school or wherever. Red is supposed to induce anger, so I suppose this is my fault.

I don't have a problem with it, but I do understand that some find it tiresome. There's a reason it happens though, and that is that people get bored. How do we fight that? We write better articles and more of them. I have a few up my sleeve, but I never really manage to finish them, I'm never satisfied with the grammar and such.
But, if the Opponauts would like me to, I can start posting stuff during the day, as long as you don't mind shoddy grammar/spelling and such. I've got this thing about Gilbern Cars that's almost ready to be released.

It would be nice if they were collected as comments under a single post.

I kind of like the theme days, actually. And some people do get creative. It's also fun to watch the Concrete Randoms among us defy the themes with non-red cars.
But yeah, theme days should be better than just "red cars". Which is why I posted a pic of the characteristic Packard red hexagonal hubs.
"Italian cars in BRG" would be a great theme, I think.

It generates content. We could have less activity if you like.

It's slow at work, I'm bored as shit, it's cold as fuck, my manager isn't here, so I posted a red 68 Dart and got this thing started.

The problem is if you post something meaningful during a theme flood, it gets buried.

I like them when it's interesting. Red though, red isn't interesting.

True, that's why all of us must post many meaningful stuffs (read in the voice of Jeremy Clarckson)

Activity doesn't have to decrease. The themed posts can all be commented into one post and from there be in the top stories section.

Or you spend a ton of time writing something meaningful...and you're buried.

The first way to try to get everybody to comply is to actually start by creating a thread that hosts itself for themed posts. I've never actually participated in themed posts, so I don't know if anybody's ever made a thread for such a thing.
The second would be to have severe penalties for anybody who doesn't comply by briefly revoking their permission to comment, but that's highly unlikely since nobody wants to be that harsh and also it's probably only that IT guys have that power.
